Inka Trail 2 Days - 1 Night

The Inca trail is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful trails of the American continent, and consequently an unforgettable experience that you should not miss. The path takes us through cloudy forests, areas in the high Andes and the subtropicl jungle, passes through various archaeological sites of an incredible beauty, from which we can have an impressive view of the landscape and the surrounding valleys. This trail was used by the ancient Peruvians during their pilgrimage to the Inca fortress.

Day 1: Cusco - Wiñaywayna - Aguas Calientes (L) (D)
We will take the train very early from Cusco to the Km 104, where our hike wil begin. We will visit Chachabamba, an archaeological complex of fine structures. This was a place from which the supplies in food of farming products were sent to the Machu Picchu. We will keep on walking towards Wiñaywayna, a fortress embedded in the depths of the subtropical jungle. On the way, we will appreciate great views of the valley and the Urubamba river, as well as the flora in which some natural species of flowers and the biggest variety of orchids stand out.
In the afternoon, and after having lunch, we will continue towards the Machu Picchu, until we arrive at the much-touted Puerta del Sol (Gateway of the Sun), from which we will catch sight of the fortress in all its splendor. We will continue our hike as far as the village of Aguas Calientes. Night in a local hotel.
Difficulty level: Moderate / Duration of the hike: 6 hours / Total distance: 12 km.


Day 2: Machu Picchu - Cusco
After breakfast, we will go up to the fortress. Guided tour for about 3 hours. After lunch, in the afternoon, we will go back to Cusco by train, and will be transfered to the hotel.
Difficulty level: Normal / Duration of the hike: 2 hours / Total distance: 4 km.
