"THE MAGIC OF THE ANDES"

ITINERARY:

Day One :

Arrival to LIMA early in the morning  ( American Airlines - Continental - Delta - Lan Peru ). Same day Connection flight to Cusco ( Aero Continente - Lan Peru - Tans - Taca)

Reception in Cusco at the Velasco Astete Airport, and transfer to your HOTEL.
Afternoon City  and  nearby Archaeological sites tour: we will make  easy to enjoy this wonderful City where ancient, original Inkan walls and cobblestone streets blend  with colonial Spanish Architecture. We will visit  the  TEMPLE OF THE SUN or Qoricancha  the " enclosure  of gold " its perfect architecture and stonework reflect  the fact  that it was the most important, most sacred  temple in the entire Inka Realm, the sacred hub of the mystical Inkan Empire. The CATHEDRAL with its  fabulous paintings  and woodcarving gilded with gold flakes; and silver ware.

You will tour the immense stone ruins of the SAQSAYWAMAN temple, (The cyclopean stones of this temple fit so tightly that one cannot wedge a knife between them .Also visit the very powerful purifying baths of TAMBOMACHAY and the Temple of QENQO dedicated to the Mother Earth and the four basic natural elements.

Day Two :

Full day tour to the SACRED VALLEY of the Inkas  visiting the colorful PISAQ Market. LUNCH in Urubamba (Buffet) . Afternoon tour to the ancient Inkan Town of OLLANTAYTAMBO, a terraced fortress-like town built by the Inkas and also considered a protective gateway to Machupicchu .

Ollantaytambo  is one of the oldest continuously inhabited  dwellings in South America.

Day three :

Early morning transfer to the train station for a three hour journey to the Lost City of the Inkas: MACHUPICCHU.
Upon arrival, a 25 minutes spectacular bus ride takes you to the top of the mountain where the Inkan City is located.
It was here that the Inkas succeeded in combining the wonders of their old civilization with those of nature . The sheer beauty of what is considered by some the most dramatic place in the world overwhelms you as you are immediately drawn into its "still alive" mysteries.

You will have a guided tour  and will be able to absorb the energy of the enigmatic environment in this Sacred Place.
Lunch (Buffet) is included.
PM return to Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

Day Four :

You will be up at dawn to take a short drive to lake Huacarpay, where you will enjoy observing representative samples of the Andean waterfowl. Then you will continue southeast down the Valley of Cusco to Pikillacta, the only ruins of a Pre-Inka City near Cusco. It is attributed to the Wari Culture, and probably marks the southern boundary of their territory before the rise of the Inkas. It is a quiet place, good to contrast their crude stonework with the striking Inca stone masonry.

Then you will continue your journey toward Andahuaylillas; a typical Andean Village where you will visit what is known as the "Sistine Chapel of America", an old church from the 17th century with a nice and impressive monstrance, paintings, and carved wood-works gilded with gold leaves.

Day  Five :

Transfer to the Airport for your departure flight.
