Day 01 : Arequipa / Chivay (Colca Canyon)

Early morning pick up from your hotel for a bus ride to Colca Canyon, drive along the El Misti and Chachani volcanoes takes you to the fertile and picturesque Colca Valley of the Inca Empire.

On the way you will have the opportunity to visit the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, Mollepunka prehistoric caves and colorful colonial Indian villages (Callalli and Sibayo). After a brief stop for snack arrival in the town of Chivay, the capital of the Colca Valley. Accommodation at a local lodge.

Early morning drive to the earth’s deepest canyon. The Colca has twice the depth of the Grand Canyon and far more impressive . En route, visit typical villages with baroque colonial churches and archeological sites. Proceed to the lookout point, the “Condor Cross”. See condors that nest in the steep canyon walls soaring down to the river where thermal springs spout water.

After lunch, visit the medicinal hot springs of “La Calera”, and return to your hotel in Arequipa in the late afternoon.

Transfer to Airport for your flight to Lima.
